Berlin commissions HELLER with major contract

In September 2018, HELLER Ingenieurgesellschaft mbH was commissioned to develop a maintenance management system (EMS) for the capital's road network of approximately 5,500 km.

This system will be used by the senate department and the twelve urban districts as a basis for strategic and operative planning. To this end, an innovative concept will be implemented with which the required condition and inventory data can be managed web-based and used flexibly for predicting the condition and determining the maintenance demand. On the strategic level, the system should enable conclusions on financial requirements and the effectiveness of selected maintenance strategies. The aim of the operational approach is to provide the basis for establishing a sustainable construction program. The technological heart of the new system will be the platform EVE developed by HELLER. This platform offers groundbreaking approaches for linking the required road information linearly. Users will have web-based access to the system via OnKo3 and will thus be able to use both the integrated strategic pavement management system (PMS) and the maintenance management system (EMS). What is new is that the maintenance sections proposed by the EMS can be included in the PMS calculations together with the maintenance measures defined by the user.
