HELLER at the NWSIB days 2017
NWSIB is the short form for „nordrhein-westfälische Straßeninformationsbank“ (a data base with information on streets) which keeps extensive information ready about road network, road condition and utilisation. During the NWSIB days 2017 innovations and news of the NWSIB were presented and at the same time it was a qualified platform for an exchange of experts. About 175 specialists from road and traffic engineering both from private economy and from public authorities came together in Gelsenkirchen.
HELLER was represented with CEO Christian Komma and answered to interested visitors. Further on, Christian Komma reported in detail about the topic `Straßen.NRW with profile: efficient demonstration of road information for planning and decision making´. „Straßen.NRW and HELLER are working together for many years now“, says Mr. Komma. „Since one year our customer make use of the ProfileCustomizer developed by HELLER and is able to generate high quality route bands on the base of the various data from NWSIB.“ He is adding that road information has to be both, available and usable. For this purpose route bands are an ideal solution as they can show different information at the same time, clearly arranged and with regiona-linear reference.
During the two days event a fruitful exchange took place as well as a lot of discussions about new approaches and future challenges for road-based information and its creation of value. „The NWSIB days were affected from forward-looking ideas. We look ahead to a high potential in the further developments for the road and traffic management“, Mr. Komma sums up.
