HELLER introduces survey for maintenance demand of rural roads

On 22 February 2017 Henning Balck, CEO at HELLER Ingenieurgesellschaft mbH, presented in Saarbrücken a survey for maintenance demand of surfaces and buildings at rural roads, which was mandated from the Ministry of Economic Affairs, Employment, Energy and Traffic in the German Federal State Saarland. The results will be part of the Saarland portfolio management and provide a base for future investment decisions.

The IT solution PMSCore was used to determine the maintenance demand using the current condition, traffic, action and inventory data on the basis of approved model approaches and are projected for the medium- and long-term planning horizon.

The specialized system PMSCore was developed by HELLER and is a modern and transparent Pavement Management System (PMS), which was already used successfully in various projects of Federal States and local authorities. On the base of life-cycle observations it combines technical engineering with economic decision models. Therewith it is suited especially for the estimation of the condition progress as well as for examination and assessment of different strategies. With the results the investments can be planned target-oriented and maintenance strategies can be validated.
