Important to OnKo2 users: new web browser versions no longer support Java

As already announced some time ago, now the second producer takes action: Beside Google Chrome, even Mozilla Firefox in it´s new version 52.0 is no longer supporting Java, Silverlight and Google Hangouts plugins from now on. With this, OnKo2 cannot be displayed with Mozilla Firefox after the appropriate update.

As of now it is recommended to use OnKo2 only with the Microsoft Internet Explorer. The users should bear in mind, that OnKo2 is not affected alone: a lot of applications make use of Java, and this requires new solutions.

OnKo3 will be implemented this year

The adjustment is not surprising the HELLER Ingenieurgesellschaft mbH: for quite some time the development team is already working out a new platform to visualize the street data by using future oriented web technology as HTML5, JS and CSS. The first prototypes of OnKo3 are currently passing internal tests and offer a lot of advantages in flexibility, comfort and clarity. OnKo3 is planned to be launched within this year to make a comfortable use of the data still possible via internet. Furthermore OnKo3 will be available in transit for mobile terminals.
