1st colloquium on municipal maintenance management of cycling infrastructure in cooperation with Darmstadt University of Applied Sciences

Practical offers and solutions are needed, ideally developed jointly by science, the public sector and service providers. With this in mind, HELLER and Darmstadt University of Applied Sciences held the first colloquium on the municipal maintenance management of cycling infrastructure on May 21. Prof. Jürgen Follmann kicked off the event with a well-founded overview of the current state of cycling safety and the resulting need for action. Daniel Hilpert from HELLER then gave a presentation on the various methods used for the ZEB of cycle paths due to the lack of regulations. Steffen Knab from the startup bildbefahrung.de presented the innovative, environmentally friendly and extremely practical solution of using a cargo bike equipped with camera and measurement technology, which could be viewed at the event. Finally, Julian Schnell from HELLER gave an insight into the world of digitalization and data management in the context of cycle path infrastructure. In addition to the content-rich presentations, the invited guests from the administrations of the districts and municipalities around Darmstadt had ample opportunity for personal discussions - over coffee, cake and snacks in a relaxed atmosphere. HELLER would like to thank all speakers and especially the team around Prof. Jürgen Follmann and Mark-Simon Krause for the successful cooperation.
