AEC/FM HACKATHON Berlin – Testing new BIM technologies

The development and introduction of the latest technologies set the course for a constantly evolving society. Entire economic sectors can benefit from the advancing digitalization by using digital tools to optimize work processes and add value to their businesses.

Christopher Grund of HELLER Ingenieurgesellschaft mbH took a look at the latest IT technologies in the construction industry at this year's AEC/FM Hackathon. Together with the TU Darmstadt, he worked on the weekend hack on merging the latest BIM technologies and integrating them into existing software environments.
The event, which took place from 20th to 22nd July in Berlin, included numerous lectures, joint workshops and offered the opportunity to discuss current issues with peers and to work together with various industry experts on innovative solutions.
Of particular importance for Road Maintenance Management were the new approaches presented to forecast the condition of ongoing infrastructure projects. For example, the use of artificial intelligence and machine learning methods could turn conventional approaches upside down in the future and take data analysis to new dimensions.
