Dr. Heller at the Japan Road Conference

The parallel seminars held during the conference gave participants the opportunity to discuss important topics. The issues of planning, construction and maintenance as well as traffic safety were addressed, taking into account environmental aspects. In addition, Asset Management was also discussed for the first time.
As part of the conference, an international symposium took place on 1st November 2017, addressing the aspects of Asset Management. Five contributions from Germany, the United States, Austria, Norway and Japan were presented. The countries referred to their specific experiences with the new discipline. The German contribution entitled "Pavement Asset Management Practice for National and State Highways in Bavaria" was prepared and presented by Dr. Thomas Linder from the Bavarian Ministry of the Interior and Dr. Slawomir Heller from HELLER Ingenieurgesellschaft mbH. About 150 spectators followed the symposium and the subsequent panel discussion with great interest.
