On the 26th and 27th of April 2017 the Silesian Street Forum took place for the fifth time in Piekary Slaskie (Poland). The international congress offers road experts a good platform to exchange experiences and discuss current issues. The representatives of the five Polish Technical Universities, as well as the Road and Bridge Building Institute (IBDiM) from Warsaw and the Directorate-General of Polish National Roads make use of this opportunity. In addition, representatives from the Bundesanstalt für Straßenwesen (BASt), the Federal Ministry of Transport and Digital Infrastructure (BMVI), the Supreme Building Authority of the Bavarian Ministry and various road administration authorities in Poland participated in the event. "I am very pleased that the Silesian Road Forum has now become an important event for road traffic," said Mr Zbigniew Tabor, Director of the National Road Authority in Katowice and founder of the Silesian Forum. "The numerous participants from Germany and abroad show that the forum is also of international importance. This also allows for a broader exchange on infrastructure construction and maintenance of road infrastructure,” he added.
