HELLER and TÜV Hessen cooperate for the certification in Asset Management ISO 55001 as an important International Standard

In January 2017, HELLER Ingenieurgesellschaft mbH and the Technical Control Association in the State of Hesse (TÜV Hessen) concluded a cooperation agreement. This partnership has one goal: to enable access for interested companies and public institutions (e.g. cities, districts) to professional asset management and the subsequent certification.

This partnership is an important step for HELLER to establish asset management entirely in the field of road engineering. As a professional partner of TÜV Hessen, HELLER is responsible for actual state analyses, the implementation and optimization of the asset management system and the preparation for the audit. TÜV Hessen with its internationally known brand TÜV PROFiCERT is available as a certification partner.

HELLER contributes over 25 years of experience in road maintenance and is working on transferring the principles of asset management to road engineering since 2015. Those responsible for the construction, operation and maintenance of roads are constantly facing new challenges: the requirements on roads are increasing, the procedures become more innovative and the funding demands sustainable strategies. To meet these requirements, the implementation of an asset management system is useful for the planning of the entire transport infrastructure. This relatively new kind of management system supports organizations in systemizing their central processes, defining responsibilities and identifying risks. The International Standards ISO 55001 and PAS 55 provide a good basis for this purpose and allow need-based implementations, similar to quality management in accordance with ISO 9001. HELLER advises the road authorities extensively and supports them to build up and enhance the management system according to the norm.

TÜV Hessen pursues the objective of a long-term cooperation with its partners. The knowledge platform TÜV KNOW-HOW CLUB provides the opportunity to share expertise and new information especially in the field of management systems but also in the young field of asset management. Furthermore, the TÜV SÜD Academy offers several professional training measures. “Due to this cooperation, our customized service packages for asset management complement each other ideally.”, says Slawomir Heller, owner of HELLER Ingenieurgesellschaft mbH. “As a partner of TÜV Hessen, we have an advance in knowledge that allows us to advise and prepare our customers even better for the auditing and certification performed by TÜV Hessen.”
