HELLER at conference in Berlin: „Urban Infrastructure-Management“

The lectures were multisided and science was able to meet the practice. The conference offered a good platform for the 120 participants to exchange about current questions in the urban infrastructure management. Further overlapping topics of the event were beside others the infrastructure planning and financing, privatization and remunicipalisation or urban finances.
The speakers presented scientific works and research activities from planning and engineering technologies with a direct relation to the main topic of the conference. Christian Komma, Chief Executive Officer at HELLER, held a lecture together with Dr. Ute Stöckner of the Steinbeis-Transferzentrum Infrastrukturmanagement im Verkehrswesen (IMV) in Bruchsal (Germany) about „Urban Management of maintenance in the area of conflict between politics, citizen interests, technical construction and financing“. They picked out the central theme which is to challenge the maintenance management by satisfying all stakeholders from politics up to citizens. The presented solutions are close to the principles of Asset Management. „Several discussions after our lecture shown the significance of Asset Management as well in the urban infrastructure,“ Christian Komma sum up. „The participants take new approaches into their organization for the further development of an efficient infrastructure management.“
