HELLER Ingenieurgesellschaft develops asset management system for streetcar line in Krakow

The project is being implemented as a public-private partnership between the Road and Transport Department of the City of Krakow (ZDMK) and Gülermak. As a private partner, the Turkish construction group is responsible for the construction and subsequent 20-year operating phase of the infrastructure.
HELLER Ingenieurgesellschaft is working closely with Inframa Consult GmbH and Heller Consult sp. z o.o. to realize the project.
International standard for sustainable infrastructure management
The asset management system is developed and implemented in accordance with the international ISO 55001 standard. This standard provides the framework for the effective and sustainable management of infrastructure assets over their entire life cycle.
Systematic recording and monitoring of all system components and forward-looking planning of maintenance and renewal measures ensure optimum use of resources. At the same time, the system ensures high availability and quality of the transport infrastructure.
"We are very pleased about this order, which confirms our many years of expertise in the field of asset management for transport infrastructure," says Marek Skakuj, Project Manager at HELLER Ingenieurgesellschaft. "The project in Krakow enables us to establish modern asset management methods in Poland and thus make a contribution to sustainable infrastructure development."
Comprehensive documentation and knowledge transfer
As part of the project, HELLER is developing comprehensive documentation for the asset management system. This includes an organizational manual that defines all relevant processes and procedures. In addition, specific requirements for technical monitoring and documentation of the system status are defined.
Knowledge transfer is also an important part of the project. HELLER Ingenieurgesellschaft will conduct numerous workshops and training courses. These will ensure that both the private partner Gülermak and the city of Krakow as the public partner acquire the necessary skills for the long-term operation of the system.
The asset management system is to be implemented by the end of 2025 and form the basis for ISO 55001 certification, which is targeted in the first year of the operating phase.
