New app ‚ZEN‘ enables mobile condition determination side roads

The city council record the condition of their side roads with the HELLER-own mobile application ‚ZEN‘ since the beginning of February. The app is an ideal addition to the classical metrological determination and assessment according to ZTV-ZEB StB. It enables a cost-saving visual-sensitive method, which is more convenient for roads with less congestion and straight carriageways.

HELLER developed the app in close collaboration with the city council Ludwigshafen. „We compiled the requirements corporately to develop the app for the condition determination of carriageways and next areas to practice it“, Björn Feike from the unit civil engineering underground in the city council Ludwigshafen is mentioning. With ‚ZEN‘ the process of visual-sensitive condition determining is possible in an easy and efficient way. The user takes impartial and reproducible results. Parking vehicles, non-defined lanes or blind alleys, which are often part of side roads, are no barricade within this method.

Comfortable determination and examination

‚ZEN‘ is presently available for iPad and directly ready for use when damages on the road surface are catching someones eye. An integrated GPS-receiver is allocating the current position and in the defined determination net the user is able to add the exact localization and kind of damage as well as it´s specificity and dimension by touching the display. As soon as the data of condition are determined, the examination, assessment and visualization take place comfortable in the Web-client. „The whole process of the data determination is simplified and simultaneously the quality is much higher by using modern technologies“, Christian Komma, CEO at HELLER, complements.
