NIRA Dynamics and HELLER present innovative solutions for maintenance management at the FSV Transport Day in Vienna

For the planning and prioritization of maintenance measures and the safe operation of roads, up-to-date and accurate data on the passability of roads is essential. For the management of federal, state and district roads, as well as for many local authorities, the condition is measured using the ZEB procedure introduced by the federal government at the beginning of the 1990s. The condition survey is usually carried out every 4 years. However, for maintenance planning and ensuring road safety, as well as for communication with politicians, citizens and road users, it would be desirable to record road conditions on a more regular basis. NIRA Dynamics and HELLER are offering a new joint product in which road conditions are continuously recorded by VW Group production vehicles and then made available by HELLER via the OnKo3 infrastructure management system. The advantage of this solution is that the data (trafficability, skid resistance, condition of markings, etc.) can be retrieved at any interval. The trends can also be displayed. The information is available for the entire German road network. By using historical data (2021 - today), road authorities can map the development of their roads or the network directly after the start of the project.
The Austrian Road - Rail - Transport Research Association (FSV) organizes the FSV Transport Day once a year. The latest developments in the fields of transportation and infrastructure are presented to experts and representatives from science, business, politics and administration. Steffen Knab (Nira Dynamics AB) and Henning Balck (HELLER) took advantage of this opportunity and presented new solutions for efficient and modern road infrastructure management for the third time on May 6, 2025. Once again, the new data offering and management platform were very well received.
A big compliment goes to the organizers for the perfect organization and the numerous interested participants for the good feedback and the interesting discussions!
