HELLER ensures safety on the road

HELLER Ingenieurgesellschaft mbH has developed an innovative analysis method for the investigation of traffic safety on subordinate road networks on behalf of the Polish voivodship of Emsland-Masuria. Marek Skakuj from HELLER presented the new process at the 12th International Road Safety Conference GAMBIT 2018, which took place from 12-13 April 2018 at the Technical University in Gdansk.

Marek Skakuj from HELLER presented a new method for road safety at GAMBIT 2018.

The new procedure allows network sections with potential risks to road traffic to be identified. This is done using the existing accident, stock and condition data with the Safety Performance Functions (SPF). This enables traffic engineers to prioritise and specifically plan measures to improve traffic safety.

The method is also suitable for the analysis of classified roads. The comprehensible results contribute to improving road safety. The representatives from Europe present at GAMBIT agreed that this procedure is suitable for practical use in the field of road safety.
